Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 September 2026
This policy explains how Yslon ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit our website or use our services.
1. Who we are
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about any privacy matter at corp@yslon.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account and contact data: your name, work email, company, role and any details you give us when you book a demo, open an account or contact us.
- Portfolio data: information about the trademarks, patents and designs you manage with us, including owner, applicant and representative names.
- Billing data: billing contact, address and payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
- Usage data: log data, device and browser information, and how you interact with the service.
- Public registry data: information published by IP offices and in official gazettes, which we collect to provide monitoring and watch services.
3. How we use it
- To provide, operate and support the service, including filings, tracking and alerts.
- To respond to enquiries and arrange demos.
- To bill you and manage your account.
- To secure, maintain and improve the service.
- To send product updates, where you have agreed to receive them.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal bases
We process personal data to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in running and improving the service, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who host, process payments or support the service on our behalf.
- IP offices and local agents, when you ask us to file, renew or challenge a right in their jurisdiction.
- Professional advisers, authorities or courts, where required by law.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is reorganised or sold.
6. International transfers
Protecting IP worldwide means data sometimes travels to other countries, for example to a foreign IP office or local agent. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
7. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and afterwards only for as long as needed to meet legal, accounting and filing obligations. IP rights can run for decades, so portfolio records may be kept for the life of the right.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To use any of these rights, email corp@yslon.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site and, with your consent, analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
10. Security
We protect personal data with technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us promptly if you suspect a problem.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and, where changes are significant, let you know directly.
